Pennsylvania Crash Reporting Requirements
Reporting duties kick in at a dollar threshold that is lower than most drivers expect.

Pennsylvania does not use a damage figure. The duty is triggered by injury or death, or by damage severe enough that a vehicle has to be towed.
- Deadline to file
- 5 days
Only when police did not investigate. A crash that must be reported is first reported to police immediately under 75 Pa.C.S. § 3746; the driver's own written report is due within five days under § 3747.

- PennDOT Bureau of Operations, Crash Unit
File Form AA-600, "Driver's Accident Report", by mail to PennDOT in Harrisburg. There is no fee, PennDOT sends no acknowledgement, and it does not investigate crashes — keep your own copy.
