This site is maintained by hand, one state at a time, and the most useful mail we get is from readers who noticed something we did not.

Worth telling us about

• A figure that is out of date. A statute was amended, a minimum went up, a deadline changed. If you have the section number or the agency page, include it — that is the whole job done.
• A source link that no longer works. State sites reorganise constantly. A citation pointing at a dead page is as good as no citation, so we would rather fix it than leave it.
• A state we have not covered. Coverage is being built out state by state. Knowing which ones people are actually looking for changes the order.
• A row that should exist and does not. Sometimes a field is empty because we could not confirm it. If you know where it is documented, say so.

What we cannot answer

We cannot give legal advice or insurance advice, and we cannot answer questions about your own situation — whether your policy covers something, whether you have to file an SR-22, what to do about a citation, a claim or a crash. We are not a law firm or an insurance agency, and writing to us creates no professional relationship. Questions like those belong with a lawyer licensed in your state, your insurer, or your state's department of insurance or motor vehicles; every state page here links to the last of those directly. Please do not send confidential details about a dispute.

We also do not sell insurance, place coverage or generate quotes, so there is nothing to request here and no details of yours that we want.
