Georgia SR-22 Requirements: Who Needs One and for How Long
An SR-22 is not insurance. It is a certificate your insurer files with the state to prove you carry coverage.

Georgia uses two forms. The plain SR-22 backs a probationary license; the SR-22A, which requires six months of premium paid in full up front, is the one used after repeat no-insurance convictions.

Three years, not one. For a second or subsequent no-insurance conviction the SR-22A must be filed and maintained for three years from the date of conviction.

The insurer reports cancellation of the SR-22A policy straight to DDS, and the driver's license is cancelled as a result.
