There is no grace period in Michigan law. Title and register the vehicle as soon as you establish residency. Bring the out-of-state title — or, if a lienholder holds it, the out-of-state registration expired less than 90 days — plus proof of Michigan no-fault insurance.

Again, no grace period. You take a vision test and have your photo taken; no written test is required to convert an out-of-state license.
